- Pink and ecru gingham cotton blouse. In contrast to the gathered back just below the neckline, the front of the blouse is delicately worked. Lying pleats supported by a yoke punctuate the height and width of the blouse. They are sewn in, right down to the bust, and then set free again to provide fullness at the bottom of the blouse. The square collar around the round neckline is inspired by the sailor's collar. The long sleeves are tightened with a buttoned cuff and enhanced with a narrow band of frilly fabric. The blouse opens from the neckline to the bottom and closes, like the cuffs, with natural mother-of-pearl buttons, the first two of which are embroidered with flowers.
